I have been told many times about this location: “It is more impressive than Hallstatt!” I really like to go here too, because it combines several factors at once that can surprise you. Sankt Wolfgang, an old resort town with colorful houses that are 200-400 years old. Lake Wolfgangsee is surrounded by high mountains, with a water color that is hard to believe. It always seems that turquoise-green paint is being added to the lake to make it look like this. The Schafbergbahn cog railway with the steepest ascent angle among similar railways in Austria, and then the top of the Schafberg mountain, which offers a view of the five large alpine lakes of the Salzkammergut region.

After you visit the top of the Schafberg mountain on the cog train, we will go to a local restaurant, where we will have Austrian cuisine, and then we will go to the opposite shore of the lake, to the beach. There are all amenities for recreation: parking, changing room, toilet, and most importantly, very beautiful, transparent and WARM (during season) water in the lake with a view of the mountains. So bring your swimwear!

In case the weather is not favorable for swimming, we will go to the eastern shore of the lake and go down the panoramic path to the island with the chapel or sail on the lake by renting a boat in St. Wolfgang, at your choice. On the way back, we will drive along the Mondsee and Attersee lakes, so that you can take a closer look at the lakes that you saw from the Schafberg mountain. In the evening I will bring you to the doorstep of your hotel.

ON THIS TRIP YOU WILL

Get individual one-day transfer from Bratislava, I take only you and those you decide to take with you, no outsiders, like on the bus or train.
Avoid trains, buses and public transport, I will pick you up near your hotel or home in the morning, and we will return to the same point in the evening. Or other place at your request.
Get there quickly, safely and comfortably by car, the journey will be more pleasant than by bus or train.
Get four hours of time in St. Wolfgang, which is enough for you to explore the summit of the Schafberg mountain, as well as to have dinner in the local restaurant.
Climb from the village of St. Wolfgang to the Schafberg mountain on the steepest cog railway in Austria.
Have a delicious lunch in a restaurant with local cuisine in St. Wolfgang or on the top of the Schafberg mountain.
Have two hours to swim in the lake at the beach, go boating on the lake, or we will go see the only island in the Wolfgangsee lake.
Return directly to your hotel or home in the evening or to another location by prior agreement (another city, airport, bus station, train station, etc.).

How to order and pay for a trip?

After agreeing on the date of transfer, I will send you the details for the reservation payment (100 €). It can be paid to an IBAN account, by card payment request or PayPal request. The rest of the amount (350 €) is paid by card or cash on the day of the transfer, at the time of departure. If you want to book a one-way trip, only to St. Wolfgang, the total cost is 350 €, reservation payment 100 € in advance and 250 € at the start of the trip. One-way trip ends up on parking of St. Wolfgang.

The reservation payment can be refunded in full up to 48 hours before the start of the trip at your request. In certain cases, the reservation payment can be refunded upon application no later than 12 hours before the start of the trip.

Is it possible to make a reservation without payment?

Yes, it is possible. But without reservation payment, I do not guarantee that you will go on that day. If another person shows up, and this person is ready to book that day and pay for the reservation, he/she will go, but you will not. Paying for your reservation is a guarantee to me that you are serious about your intentions, and to you it is a guarantee that your chosen date will not be booked by someone else.

Can I go with children?

A round trip lasts about 14 hours, half of which is on the road. The route runs along mountain roads and not all children tolerate such trips well. Therefore, this trip is suitable for children from six years of age. For the safety of your child, there is a booster seat, it is mandatory for children up to 145 cm tall in Austria.

Where to have lunch?

There is a wonderful restaurant with local cuisine in St. Wolfgang. You can also bring your own food (sandwiches or something else) if you don’t want to dine in the restaurant or follow a special diet.

Important! (be sure to read)

Breakfast.
You can have breakfast before leaving or we can stop at a gas station and you can have breakfast in the cafe located there. We will stop by at a convenient time for you on the way to the mountains. You can also take sandwiches with you and have breakfast at the gas station. Don’t stay hungry in the morning, lunch is not soon.)

Clothes and shoes.
The best clothes for a trip are those in which you will be comfortable. Take such clothes that you can put on something extra if it’s cold, or take off and leave in the car if it’s hot. Any unnecessary things can be left in the car, in the trunk. Shoes should be comfortable, preferably sneakers, be ready to walk about 5-7 km per day. You can take your umbrellas or use mine (there are 3 in the car) if it rains.

Motion sickness.
If you know that you have motion sickness – be sure to take special tablets according to their instructions before the trip. They are cheap, but very effective and will help you not to spoil your trip.

It is forbidden to eat in the car.
If you want to have a snack on the way, we can stop at the nearest gas station where there are comfortable tables. By ordering a transfer, you agree not to consume food inside the vehicle during the entire trip.

Safety belts.
Your safety and mine are important to me, so the use of seat belts is mandatory for ALL passengers during the trip. By ordering a transfer, you agree to use safety belts during the entire trip.

Take cash with you for additional expenses, it is not always possible to pay by card.

Do not forget your passports and other permits at the hotel/home, they should ALWAYS be with you!!!

Comfort during the trip

The car has two-zone climate control, you will not be cold or hot in any weather. On the way, you can charge your phone from the car’s power grid. There are also umbrellas, blankets and free bottled still water. If on the way you need to stop at a pharmacy, supermarket, toilet, have a snack or drink coffee – just tell me during the trip and I will find the nearest place. If you are traveling with luggage, several huge suitcases will fit into the trunk with a volume of 605 liters. Upon agreement, I can take you to the city center, train station, bus station or airport after the transfer.
